What We Do

What Is an
Apostille?

An apostille is an official certification that authenticates the origin of a public document for use in countries that are members of the Hague Convention. It's required when presenting U.S. documents abroad — for immigration, education, business, or legal purposes.

Imperial Notary Services manages the entire process on your behalf — from initial document review and notarization through submission to the South Carolina Secretary of State and final courier delivery.

We eliminate the confusion and delays that come with navigating government offices, ensuring your documents are authenticated correctly and delivered on time.

SC Code of Laws § 26-1-90 — Vital Records: A notary public may not notarize a vital record. "Vital records" include birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses, and divorce decrees issued by a government agency. These documents are already certified public records and do not require — and cannot receive — notarization. As a result, we are unable to apostille vital records that require notarization as a prerequisite. If your destination country requires an apostille on a vital record, you must obtain a certified copy directly from the issuing government office, which carries its own official seal and is eligible for apostille through the SC Secretary of State.
